Grace Covenant Church -- un poste biligue (a bilingual post)

Suite à une requête d'une amie, j'ai pris des photos de l'église où j'assiste ici à Walnut Ridge.  J'ai demandé le droit à un des hommes de l'église et il m'a dit que oui, je pourrais prendre des photos.  Alors, voilà quelques images de Grace Covenant Church.

One of my friends asked me if I could take some pictures of the church I attend here in Walnut Ridge.  I asked one of the men of the church if I could, and he say yes.  So, here are some pictures of Grace Covenant Church.

Ils ont acheté leur bâtiment d'une autre église qui ne se réunissait plus.  Le prix était très bas, parce que ce bâtiment est situé au milieu de nulle part.  Grâce au Seigneur, ils ont pu l'acheter sans s'endetter!

They bought their building from another church that wasn't meeting anymore.  It didn't cost very much, because this building is in the middle of nowhere.  By God's provision, they were able to buy it without going into debt!

L'intérieur, à gauche.  La porte au fond mène à la cuisine.

Inside, to the left.  The door at the back leads to the kitchen.

Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais ils ont installé le piano tout au fond du lieu du culte.  En générale, dans les églises américaines, le piano se trouve sur l'estrade avec le podium.

I don't know why, but they have the piano all the way at the back of the room.  Usually in American churches the piano is on the stage with the podium. 

Le podium.  Derrière, entre les deux chaises qui se voient, il y a une petite table où ils mettent la Sainte Cène.  Le panier devant est pour les offrandes.  

The pulpit.  Behind it, between the two chairs you can see, is a small table where they put the Communion.  The basket in front is for offerings. 

La cuisine, où nous partageons une agape pour le repas de midi.  La porte brune (un peu difficile à voir) mène à la garderie.  Après le repas les mamans s'y réunissent pour prier ensemble, s'il n'y a pas d'enfant qui dort!  Il y a une autre pièce à droite qui ne se voit pas.

The back of the kitchen, where we share a fellowship meal for lunch together.  The brown door (it's a little hard to see) leads to the nursery.  The mothers meet in there after lunch to pray together, if there's not a sleeping baby!  There's another room to the right that you can't see in this picture.

L'autre côté de la cuisine, où on arrive en venant de la sanctuaire.  La porte ici s'ouvre à l'extérieur.  Il y a une petite aire de jeux pour les enfants, un grand arbre, une table de pique-nique, et puis des champs qui entourent les côtés et l'arrière du bâtiment.  La semaine dernière, dans l'herbe, les enfants ont trouvé deux bébés lapins!

The other side of the kitchen, where you come in from the sanctuary.  The door you see here goes outside.  There is a play-scape for the children, a large tree, a picnic table, and then fields that surround the sides and back of the building.  Last week the children found 2 baby rabbits in the tall grass!

Ce n'est pas une église typique des Etats-Unis; les églises américaines se diffèrent beaucoup.  Elle est très petite comparée à des églises "Mega" qui existent dans de grandes villes.  Alors ne pensez pas qu'elle représente la plupart des églises ici!  Mais je suis contente d'y assister à cause des famillies qui y vont, se qu'elles croient, et se qu'elles vivent.

This is not a typical American church; American churches differ greatly from one to another.  This one is very small compared to Megachurches that some big cities have.  So don't think that this is a complete representation of all churches!  But I am grateful to attend it because of the families who go here, what they believe, and how they live.
